As of September 2024, Leicester Taiko holds adult taiko sessions in Girton, Cambridgeshire, for all abilities to try out taiko. We run these sessions so that you can you can all participate together, no matter if you are a complete novice or an experienced drummer. Come and boost your well-being while you experience the power and joy of taiko!
These sessions normally take place on the first Sunday of the month with the workshop details below. Forthcoming dates are available on this page.
12:00 - 14:00, Have-A-Go, £16
This session is perfect for anyone who has never tried taiko before or for those who just want to have fun and hit some drums on a Sunday. All the sessions are stand-alone so there’s no need to remember anything between sessions, and no prior experience is required.
14:30 - 16:30, Gearing Up, £55 (Course of 4 workshops)
This course is aimed at those of you with slightly more experience who are interested in learning more complex pieces over a longer period. Alongside the usual drills and activities we will spend four sessions learning a full piece and developing a greater understanding of the nuances involved.
